How to import an image on the Stage?

Take the following steps to import an image on the Stage:
- Open an existing or create a new document.
- Select the layer where the image should appear and than click the Stage.
- Select the File > Import > Import to Stage command.
- In the Import dialog box, browse to the folder with the image, select the desired image and click the Open (Windows) or Choose (Macintosh) button.
The image appears on the Stage, located on the selected layer. It has also been added to the Library.
