Take the following steps to enable an ICMP component on a network computer:
- Open My Computer from the Start menu.
- In the My Computer window, select My Network Places in the Other Places section.
- In the My Network Places window, click View network connections in the Network Tasks section.
- In the Network Connections window, right-click the connection and select Properties.
- On the Advanced tab page of the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, click the Settings button.
- On the ICMP tab page of the Advanced Settings dialog box, select the Allow incoming echo request check box and click the OK button.
- In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, click the OK button.
