Take the following steps to disable a domain user account:

  1. Run Active Directory Users and Computers from Start Menu > Programs > Administrative Tools > Active Directory Users and Computers.

  2. In the Active Directory Users and Computers console tree, double-click the domain to expand the tree, and click the organizational unit (OU) in which the account to be disabled is located. In the details pane, right-click the user account, and click Disable Account. A confirmation dialog box will appear.

  3. In the Active Directory confirmation dialog box, click the OK button.
