How to create an FTP-based Web site in Visual Studio 2005?

The following are the steps to create an FTP-based Web site in Visual Studio 2005:

  1. Open the Microsoft Visual Studio Start Page. From the menu toolbar, select File>New>Web Site... menu option. An illustrated image is given below:



  2. The New Web Site dialog box appears. From the dialog box, select the ASP.NET Web Site option from the Visual Studio installed templates under the Templates option. Then, select the FTP option from the Location drop-down list. Type the valid path for the valid local or remote location for FTP in the text box. Select the default Visual C# language option from the Language drop-down list and click the OK button. The New Web Site dialog box is shown below:



  3. The FTP Log On dialog box appears. In the dialog box, a user is prompted to check the Connect using passive mode and/or the Anonymous log on checkbox options. If a user checks only the Connect using passive mode checkbox, he is prompted for the username and password. Click the OK button. The FTP Log On dialog box is shown below:
