Take the following steps to create a custom swatch:
- Click the foreground color in the Toolbox. Select or create the color you want in the Color Picker dialog box, and click the OK button.

- Click Window > Swatches on the Menu bar to make the Swatches palette visible.

- Click the New Swatch button
in the Swatches palette or choose New Swatch from the Swatches palette menu.

Or, alternatively, take the cursor on an empty space in the last row of the Swatches palette and click on the space when the pointer turns into the Paint Bucket tool
.
- Enter a name for the new color and click the OK button. It will add the new color to the Swatches palette for use until you load a different swatch, or set or reset your preferences.

- To save all the colors you have added to the Swatches palette for future use, go to the Preset Manager (Edit > Preset Manager), and choose preset type as Swatches.

- Hold down the Shift or the Ctrl/Command key and select all the swatches you want to save in a set.
- Click the Save Set button.
- Choose a location for the library and enter a filename. By default, the set will be saved in the PhotoshopPresetsColor Swatches.
- Click the Save button.
