What is blowfish?

Blowfish is a symmetric 64-bit block cipher that can support key lengths up to 448 bits. It is included in a large number of cipher suites and encryption products. It was designed in 1993 by Bruce Schneier and is freely available for anyone to use. This has contributed to its popularity in cryptographic software.

What is dumpster diving?

Dumpster diving is a term that refers to going through someone’s trash to find out useful or confidential information. Dumpster divers check and separate items from commercial or residential trash to get any information they desire. This information may be used for identity theft and for breaking physical information security.

Keystroke logging is a method of logging and recording user keystrokes. It can be performed with software or hardware devices. Keystroke logging devices can record everything a person types using his keyboard, such as to measure employee’s productivity on certain clerical tasks. What is drive wiping?

Drive wiping is the process of overwriting all addressable locations on a disk. According to the Department of Defense (DoD), drive-wiping standard, all addressable locations must be overwritten with a character. In this way, an organization is able to reduce the possibility of data recovery. Organizations concerned about the proper disposal of used media follow this procedure. Drive wiping can also be useful for destroying criminal evidence.

What is the role of an HTTP?

An HTTP or Hypertext Transfer Protocol is a text-based communication protocol. It is responsible for requesting Web pages from a Web server and sending back the responses to a Web browser. An HTTP uses port 80 for sending and receiving data. However, it uses port 443 when the Web browser uses secure HTTP or HTTPS for data security.

What is static NAT?

Static NAT performs a manual translation of one IP address to a different one. Static NAT is typically used to translate destination IP address in packets that reaches to the translation device (like router) for the LAN. In static translation type, a manual translation is performed between two addresses, and possibly port numbers.
