The external script files have the extension .js. The code in this file is a script code, which is written outside the main html document. This file can be invoked in the main document through the script tag. The file should be in the same folder as that of the main html document; otherwise, the user will have to provide the full path of the external script file.

For example, if the name of the file is abc.js, the following code will invoke the file in the main html document:
