What is Tracking?
Rating:
Tracking is the process of adjusting the space among a group of selected letters. It creates an equal amount of space between each pair of letters in the selected range. You can control tracking by entering or selecting a numeric value from the Tracking menu in the Character palette. A positive tracking value is selected for adding the space, and a negative value for reducing the space in between letters. The units for measuring tracking values are 1/1000 of an em space, and the width of an em corresponds to current font size.
