The tailSet() method of the NavigableSet interface returns all the elements of a navigable set that are greater than the element given in the parameter. There are two versions of the tailSet() method as follows:

• SortedSet<E> tailSet(E fromElement): This method returns the elements of the navigable set whose elements are strictly greater than fromElement.


• NavigableSet<E> tailSet(E fromElement, boolean inclusive): This method returns the elements of the navigable set whose elements are greater than or equal to the fromElement. The fromElement is included only if the value of inclusive is true.

The fromElement element must be compatible with the navigable set's comparator. Also, it must implement the Comparable interface. It throws the NullPointerException if the fromElement element is null and the given set does not permit null elements. It throws the IllegalArgumentException if the navigable set has a restricted range and fromElement lies outside the bounds of the range.
