What is the TELNET command?

TELNET is a TELetype NETwork TCP/IP terminal emulation utility that allows a user to access another computer by entering the TELNET command at the command prompt followed by a valid host name. For example, if a user wants to access a program or directory on a computer named ucertify.net, he should enter the following command at the command prompt. For example: TELNET www.ucertify.net.



The succeeding window will then ask for the username and password. If the correct username and password are entered, the user will be able to access information as a normal user of the computer named ucertify.net
