The Connection interface in JDBC provides methods to handle transaction processing , to create objects for executing SQL statements, and to create objects for executing stored procedures. Apart from these, it also provides some basic error handling methods. Since it is an interface, it cannot be created in code. It is created by the Driver.connect() method. When the connect method is called, it returns a Connection object, which in turn instantiates the Connection object. The code to show how a Connection object is created is given below:

Connection connection = Driver.connect(dbURL, properties)
