What is piecemeal restore?
Rating:
Piecemeal restore is a process in which a database is restored on a filegroup-by-filegroup basis. The primary filegroup is restored first. The restoration of undamaged files, which are consistent with the database, is not required. These files are restored during an online piecemeal restore. The database becomes online after the restoration of the primary filegroup.
