A remote HTTP-based Web site uses Internet Information Services (IIS) running on a remote computer. It is also known as a remote IIS Web site. This Web site is useful when a user wants to access to IIS running on a remote computer. The remote computer should be configured with the Microsoft's FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions. When the remote Web site is created, all the Web pages and file folders are stored under the IIS folder that is running on the remote computer.
