What is a large pool?
Rating:
A large pool is a data storage area, which can be configured in the System Global Area (SGA) as per user requirements. It is not the default component of the SGA. The need for a large pool arises out of transactions having large memory requirements, such as those of user global area (UGA) in a user session connected via Multi Threaded Server (MTS). Unlike the shared pool, the large pool does not follow the least recently used (LRU) algorithm for phasing out infrequently used data from the memory.
