What is a hash cluster?
Rating:
A hash cluster is a group of tables that share the same Oracle block for storing data. Unlike a conventional cluster that uses a cluster key for retrieving rows, a hash cluster uses a hashing algorithm for retrieving rows directly. Hence, a hash cluster is a more efficient mechanism as compared to a conventional cluster because it reduces the disk I/O required to access the rows corresponding to a query.
