What is a file-based Web site?
Rating:
A file-based Web site contains all the files and folders created for a Web site. It does not require to use IIS on the local computer. In this Web site, developers can create or edit files on any folder situated either on the local computer or in a folder on a remote computer. Developers test Web pages by using the ASP .NET Development Server, instead of using IIS. This Web site is useful when developers do not want to install IIS on the development computer. It is also useful when they already have a set of Web files in a folder and require to use the Visual Web Developer.
