What is a database snapshot?
Rating:
A database snapshot is a point-in-time, read-only copy of a database. The snapshot does not contain any data, and so it acquires very little space in the storage device such as a disk. It does not contain any transaction log either. Since a database snapshot is read-only, it is not possible to add data or change permissions in it.
