A data-bound control is a Web server control that is bound or connected to a data from a data source. This control can be classified as a simple, composite, or hierarchical control. The simple data-bound controls inherit from the ListControl and AdRotator controls. The composite data-bound controls inherit from the CompositeDataBoundControl such as GridView, DetailsView, and FormsView controls. The hierarchical data-bound controls are controls such as the Menu and TreeView controls.
