What is a custom action?

Rating:

A custom action is a Windows Installer feature of .NET deployment project. It allows a user to execute code at the end of an installation with the setup project editor known as the Custom Actions Editor. It performs the actions that cannot be handled at the time of application installation. Its code can be .dll, .exe, script, or assembly file and should be contained in the Installer class. Custom actions can be used to execute code when the events of the Installer class are raised.
