What is a Yagi antenna?

A Yagi antenna (or Yagi-Uda antenna) is a directional antenna. It comprises a dipole, a reflector, which is an element bigger than the dipole, and one or more shorter elements as directors in front of the dipole.

The Yagi antenna is directed along the axis perpendicular to the dipole. The Yagi antenna is also called a beam antenna.
