What is a Web custom control?

Rating:

A Web custom control is a compiled component that runs on a Web server. It is used to render markup and client-side JavaScript for a Web site. It encapsulates user-interface and other related functionality into a reusable package on a Web site. The functionality can include all the features of ASP.NET server controls at design time. The server controls also provide design features such as the Properties window, the Visual Designer, and the Toolbox.
