A SQLException provides information about database errors or other errors. It contains the following methods:

  • setNextException(): This method enables a programmer to add a new SQL exception in a program.
  • getSQLState(): This method returns a SQLState identifier based on the X/Open SQL specification.
  • getErrorCode(): This method retrieves the vendor-specific exception code for the SQLException object.
  • getNextException(): This method retrieves the next exception in the SQLException chain or returns a NULL if there are no more exceptions left.
