What is Wusa?

Wusa stands for Windows Update Standalone Installer. It is a tool in Windows Vista to install an update. It supports the following parameters:

  • /h, /? or /help: Any of these can be used to get all the command-line options used by Wusa.
  • /quiet: It installs an update without user interaction. No success or error message is displayed if an update is installed using this parameter.
  • /norestart: It disallows Windows to restart when the installation is complete. It is used when a user installs more than one updates.
