What is Windows Vista Firewall?

Rating:

Windows Vista Firewall is an active firewall service provided by Windows Vista. Windows Vista Firewall functions in a bi-directional manner. The earlier versions of Windows firewalls worked in a unidirectional manner, and do not provide any check on the outgoing traffic. Windows Vista Firewall applies rules to traffic in both directions. Any traffic that reaches the firewall is first analyzed on the basis of the configured rules, and then it is either dropped or allowed to pass through the firewall. Windows Vista uses two firewalls, i.e., Windows Firewall and Windows Firewall with Advance Security working in concert. The basic difference between the two firewalls is the complexity of rules that can be configured.
