What is Web-based deployment?
Rating:
Web-based deployment is the most popular form of deployment as compared to other forms of deployment. Web-based deployment is best suited to small-sized applications, and offers various advantages that include reduction in the cost of media, replication, and distribution. The easy management of software updates and automatic checking of updates on the Web are some of its advantages. In Web-based deployment, even the end users can be instructed to download update packages from the Internet.
In Web-based deployment, the setup files after creation are copied to a virtual directory on a Web server instead of copying them to a removable media. The deployment on the Web site can also be made protective by applying password so that only authorized users can download the specific application. By executing the setup.exe file, the application can be installed on the Web page without being tampered by any unauthorized user.
