What are table aliases?
Rating:
Like columns, tables can also have alias names. The alias name is placed beside the table name separated with a space in the query. It is used to identify the table. It increases the readability and can be used to shorten longer table names with short aliases. For example:
FROM Table1, Table2
WHERE Table1.ID= Table2.ID
This query can be rewritten as follows:
FROM Table1 k, Table2 d
WHERE k.ID=d.ID
Here, k is the alias of Table1, and d is the alias of Table2.
