What are WMI filters?
Rating:
Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) filters are used to filter the effect of a group policy object (GPO). The filters use WMI-based queries to filter computers on the basis of characteristics such as RAM, processor speed, disk capacity, IP address, operating system version and service pack level, installed applications, and printer properties. As there are unlimited number of attributes that can be used in a WMI query, WMI is capable of reaching every property of every object in a computer. WMI filters are written in the WMI Query Language (WQL).
