What are HTTP Channels?

The HTTP channels use the Hypertext Transmission Protocol (HTTP) for establishing communication between the receiving end and the sending end of the channel. The System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Http namespace provides classes that are used to transfer messages. The classes are as follows:

  • HttpClientChannel: It transfers messages from a client to a remote object.
  • HttpServerChannel: It is used to listen to remote calls from a client.
  • HttpChannel: It is used to transport messages to and from remote objects.
