The CompTIA test 220-302 is meant for entry-level computer technicians. This test measures an individual's ability to manage an operating system on a stand-alone computer as well as on a client computer in a network. Before taking the CompTIA test 220-302, you should practice the following:
- Create partitions on a hard disk using the FDISK command and format partitions in FAT, FAT32, and NTFS file systems.
- Install all versions of Windows operating system. Installation includes:
- Clean installation
- Upgrade installation
- Work on different command line utilities and applications required to manage the operating system.
- Use the registry editing tools and try to differentiate the usability of different tools available.
- Use the various diagnostic tools available with the operating system.
- Create a network of two computers.
- Install the TCP/IP protocol suite.
- Use the various TCP/IP utilities.
- Create a dial-up connection for connecting to the Internet.
