Take the following steps to create a frame-by-frame animation:

  1. Click a layer to make it active, and select a frame in the layer where the animation is needed to start.

  2. Make the frame a keyframe.

Note: To convert a frame to a keyframe, select the frame and choose the Insert > Timeline > Keyframe command. Alternatively, right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Macintosh) on the frame and select the Insert Keyframe option from the pop-up menu.

  3. Create the artwork on the Stage for the first frame using the drawing tools, pasting graphics from the Clipboard, or importing a file.

  4. Click the next frame to the right in the same row and make the frame a keyframe. Contents of this frame are the same as the first keyframe.

  5. Alter the contents of this frame on the Stage to create the next increment of the animation.

  6. To complete the animation sequence, repeat steps 4 and 5 until the desired motion is achieved.
  7. To test the animation, select Control > Play.
