How to create a zone delegation?

Take the following steps to create a zone delegation:

  1. Run DNS from Start Menu > Programs > Administrative Tools > DNS.



  2. In the DNS console tree, click the server name to expand the tree, right-click the sub domain in which the delegation is to be created , and click New Delegation.



  3. In the welcome screen of New Delegation Wizard, click the Next button.



  4. On the Delegated Domain Name page, specify a name for the domain to be created, and click the Next button.



  5. On the Name Servers page, click the Add button.



  6. In the New Resource Record dialog box, specify Server name and IP address of DNS servers, and click the Add button. Click the OK button.



  7. On the Name Servers page, click the Next button.



  8. Click the Finish button.
