How to create a vector mask?

Take the following steps to create a vector mask:
- In the Layers palette, select the layer to which you want to add a vector mask.


- Draw a work path by using the shape tools
or pen tools
with the Paths option active in the Options bar.


Or, alternatively, select the path in the Paths palette if you want to use an existing path as a mask.

- Choose Layer > Add Vector Mask > Current Path.

Or, alternatively, hold down the Ctrl key (for Windows) or the Command key (for Mac) and click the Add Layer Mask button
at the bottom of the Layers palette.
After adding the vector mask, the image will look like the one given below:
