How to create a stand-alone Dfs root?

Take the following steps to create a stand-alone Distributed File System (Dfs) root:
- Run Dfs from Start Menu > Programs > Administrative Tools > Distributed File System.

- In the Distributed File System console, click Action > New Dfs Root menu.

- In the welcome screen of the New Dfs Root Wizard, click the Next button.

- On the Select the Dfs Root Type page, specify the type of Dfs root you want to create, and click the Next button.

- On the Specify the Host Server for the Dfs Root page, specify the server name , and click the Next button.

- On the Specify the Dfs Root Share page, specify or create a shared folder, and click the Next button.

- On the Name the Dfs Root page, specify the name and description for the Dfs root, and click the Next button.

- Click the Finish button.
