Take the following steps to create a graphic symbol:

  1. Choose Insert > New Symbol. This will launch the Create New Symbol dialog box.

  2. Choose the Graphic radio button, enter a name in the Name text field, and click the OK button.

    Note:
    • A symbol with the name specified in the Name text field is stored in the Library panel.
    • The screen changes to a new view.
    • The crosshair that appears at the center of the Stage represents the center point of the symbol.

  3. Draw a circle over the crosshair. The circle is stored in the Library panel under the symbol.

  4. Click the Scene 1 tab or use the Edit Scene drop-down menu to come back to the main timeline.

  5. Choose Window > Library if the Library panel is not already open.

  6. Click the symbol in the Library panel, and drag it onto the Stage. This will put an instance of the symbol on the Stage.
