Take the following steps to create a Management Console for monitoring system performance:

  1. Run Console Root from Start Menu > Run > MMC.



  2. In the Console Root window, click Console > Add/Remove Snap-in menu.



  3. On the Standalone tab page of the Add/Remove Snap-in dialog box, click the Add button.



  4. In the Add Standalone Snap-in dialog box, select ActiveX Control, and click the Add button.



  5. In the Insert ActiveX Control dialog box, click the Next button.



  6. In the next page of the Insert ActiveX Control dialog box, select a control category and a control type, and click the Next button.



  7. In the next page of the Insert ActiveX Control dialog box, specify a name for the ActiveX control, and click the Finish button.



  8. In the Add/Remove Snap-in dialog box, click the OK button.



  9. In the Console Root window, click Console > Save As menu.



  10. In the Save As dialog box, specify a name for the console in the File name field, and click the Save button.



  11. Close the Console Root window.
