Take the following steps to configure the Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) to start automatically on a server-restart:

  1. Open the Services console from the Start menu.




  2. In the Services(Local) console, right-click Volume Shadow Copy in the details pane, and then click Start.




  3. Right-click Volume Shadow Copy, and click Properties.




  4. In the Volume Shadow Copy Properties (Local Computer) dialog box, select Automatic in the Startup type box, and then click the OK button.
