How to configure a new DNS server?

Take the following steps to configure a new Domain Name System (DNS) server:
- Run DNS from Start Menu > Programs > Administrative Tools > DNS.

- In the DNS console tree, highlight the server on which DNS is to be configured, and click Action > Configure a DNS Server.

- In the welcome screen of the Configure a DNS Server Wizard, click the Next button.

- On the Select Configuration Action page, choose the appropriate lookup zone types, and click the Next button.

- On the Primary Server Location page, specify where the DNS data is maintained for your network resources, and click the Next button.

- On the Zone Name page, specify the name of the new zone, and click the Next button.

- On the Dynamic Update page, specify that this DNS zone accepts secure, nonsecure, or no dynamic updates, and click the Next button.

- On the Forwarders page, specify the IP address to which the DNS server will forward queries, and click the Next button.

- Click the Finish button to complete the configuration.
