How to add a new zone for the Reverse Lookup zone?

Take the following steps to add a new zone for the Reverse Lookup zone:

  1. Run DNS from Start Menu > Programs > Administrative Tools > DNS.



  2. In the DNS console tree, right-click the Reverse Lookup Zones folder, and click New Zone.



  3. In the welcome screen, click the Next button.



  4. On the Zone Type page, select the type of zone to be created.



  5. On the Reverse Lookup Zone Name page, specify the network ID of the reverse lookup zone.



  6. On the Master DNS Servers page, add the IP address of the DNS server from which the zone is to be copied.



  7. Click the Finish button to complete the installation.
