How is the expression language disabled?

By default, the expression language is enabled. It can be disabled using the deployment descriptor web.xml file as follows:
<jsp-property-group>
<url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
<el-ignored>true</el-ignored>
</jsp-property-group>
</jsp-config>
The expression language can also be disabled by overriding the default mode through the isELIgnored attribute of the page directive as follows:
