The Instance Manager tool of the Oracle Enterprise Manager can be used for killing a user session that is causing lock contention. The user session can be killed in the following manner:
- By expanding the session branch on the left hand side of the Instance Management window.
- By clicking the username whose session needs to be killed.
- By selecting the following from the menu bar:
