What is Fast User Switching?
Rating:
Fast User Switching, a feature of the Windows XP operating system, enables users to switch between different accounts without logging off or exiting the running application. Fast User Switching, in a multi-user environment, saves a considerable amount of time by enabling users to share a computer and use it simultaneously without closing the running application. With Fast User Switching, a user can leave his program running in the background and allow another user to work on a different program. Fast User Switching is enabled by default on computers with more than 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM and running Windows XP Home Edition and Professional. The feature is not available on Windows XP Professional-based computers that are part of a domain-based network.
